As part of Santander’s growing global alliance with universities and colleges, the company is about to launch a new multi-use credit/I.D. card for U.K. students. This is currently referred to as the ‘Carnet’.
For this brief I was asked to name, create, and develop a branding system – or scheme – which not only highlights the brand values of this card and Santander, but also makes it appealing to undergraduates throughout the UK. Considering the benefits for the student when using the card i.e. where it can be used, for what, why etc.
1. ID card – University campus access, library card, log-in details, attendance control, timetable access etc.
2. Bank card - cash point, delta/visa card, general bank card. All with the benefit with no actual linkage to a single bank account.
3. Discount card – Discounts in shops (such as HMV), whether these be associated to the university or otherwise. Plus travel, insurance
